The existence of being a small business owner is one in which you’re never turned “off.” What is a work-life balance when your work is your life and your life is your work?
Case in point, I came up with the idea for this video last night as my plane landed back in NYC after doing a market in SF. I started compiling the videos on the plane and edited the video while making my way through baggage claim, the car ride home, and while eating my reheated leftovers. I recorded the voiceover as I crawled into bed and thought, a little after midnight, that maybe the video was worth posting tomorrow… but maybe it’s actually too cringe.
I hadn’t originally planned on making a dedicated Small Business Saturday post, my idea had just snowballed and now I had spent the past 3+ hours working on a silly video. Was it even worth sharing?
Well, I’ve (obviously) decided to go ahead and post it, cringe aside, and I’m doing it not for myself but for all the small business owners out there who were too busy or too exhausted to make content of their own today. So many of you inspire me on a daily basis to keep going; please consider this my love letter to you 💌
And if you’re shopping for yourself or loved ones this holiday season — please consider purchasing from a small business! Believe me when I say it makes a real difference in someone’s life when you do 🫶🏻
